Electrification Coalition Announces World EV Day Partnership

The Electrification Coalition is proud to announce that we are 2021 Partners of World EV Day, to be held Sept. 9, 2021. The event, hosted by technology company ABB and sustainability media agency Green.TV, is an opportunity for companies, organizations, and industry leaders in transportation electrification to come together to celebrate and promote the transition to sustainable transportation.

The event connects experts from across the industry with consumers, businesses, and policymakers to demonstrate the benefits of electrification. As a not-for-profit advocacy group dedicated to promoting electric solutions to the United States’ dependency on oil, the EC is bringing its expertise in electric vehicle policy and implementation to aid other stakeholders as they work with us to advance electric mobility beyond early adopters and drive economies of scale in electrification across the globe.

This year, education, accessibility, and sustainability will be the headline themes for the 2021 World EV Day campaign. The day will be focused on motivating people to engage with e-mobility and to support electric transportation solutions for all.

2021 is also the year that the global community comes together for COP26 – the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties, where an electrified transportation future is central to the world’s ability to meet global climate action targets. World EV Day will build momentum toward productive dialogue and commitments for an electrified transportation future.

“We are committed to enabling low-carbon societies, and driving the further adoption of e-mobility solutions is a crucial part of achieving this objective,” said Frank Muehlon, President of ABB’s eMobility Division. “In 2020, World EV Day became a global focus for raising awareness around e-mobility and the important role it plays for the future of sustainable transport. The initiative was a huge success across the e-mobility community, and something ABB is delighted to continue supporting as headline partner.”

Green.TV, the creators of World EV Day, will be working with leading global companies and organizations to plan a series of content streams and events to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport with consumer, business, and policy outcomes. Ade Thomas, Founder of Green.TV, and of World EV Day, said, “In its inaugural year, the campaign became an international movement, with a media reach of 1.9 billion: the most successful automotive digital communications activity of the year.”

Mark you calendars for Sept. 9, and stay tuned for more info at www.worldevday.org.
